The Phewa Tal (or Fewa Lake), located exactly in Kaski region of the Pokhara valley or city. is maybe one of the most beautiful lakes in Asia and it's the second largest place in the country. Queen’s Forest or Rani Ban surrounds it, giving the lake its emerald hue due to the reflection. The lake is a semi-natural body of water, fed by streams but regulated by a dam, and features an island with a Hindu temple.
It's very huge and surrounded by hills and birdlife. The lake is neither deep (roughly 47 meters at most) nor particulary clean, but the water is warm and swimming is pleasant if you don’t think about the probable pollution. The eastern shoreline of the lake, popularly known as Lakeside or Baidam, consists of seemingly endless strip of lodges, restaurants, bookshops and souvenir shops. One of the fascinating parts of lakeside is the splendid view of the mountains, especially when the still water reflects the peaks, creating a double image.
How to visit:

The boats, locally known as ‘doongas’ are docked at the lakeshore and can be availed for a boat ride, and you can also swim, go fishing there and do paragliding. You also can trek to the world peace pagoda and enjoy the view there of the lake and the surrounding mountains.
It's very easy to go on your own, if you're doing a country tour, or if you're heading to the Himalayas. If you only stay in Katmandu, you can go by bus par example or in a tour:
