By far, my favorite day in UAE. This tour company offers morning and evening cultural tours to give you a knowlegde of what was the life in the desert for the bedouin people, in the Al Marmoon desert camp. I choose the evening one because it's more complete than the other. 

We started being picked up from our hotel by Eddie (our funny amazing australian tour guide / astronomer / amazing person with a big heart), and, in a really small group (maybe 9 people) we went to the desert in a jeep, where we started a 30 min camel ride. I choose this company because it's totally focused on the bedouin culture and not the camel ride. They treat very well their camels, don't do overwork to them, and provide them food and doctors whenever they need. We had a chance to create a bound with our camel, and that was great too. 

After, we arrived with the deser sunset to a place where a formed local bedouin sr explained to us the use of the falcons to hunt and provide food for their families, and how to catch a falcon to do this. 

Then, we went to the bedouin camp to see how this people survived in such a harsh environment. We saw their traditional houses (summer and winter ones) and ate their amazing "snacks", coffee and drinks such as camel milk, arabian coffee and arabian donuts (OMG ARABIAN DONUTS ARE THE BEST THING EVEEEER). We learned the men and women roles in the society and danced all together a traditional dance with a stick. 

After, we went for the dinner with camel meat, chicken, vegetables, rice (amongst other things) and saw them performing a guy's traditional dance with guns.

With a full belly, it was time to have an astronomy session with Eddie and learn more about how to navigate with the stars as they did back then. The night was clear and beautiful, and we could hear the calm, the inner peace the desert provides, and the night insects around us, with the stars and the moon reflected on the lagoon. The ladies still had a chance to do a Henna tattoo before went to our hotel.
