This is one of a kind hostel, breathing art and life inside. Located in the frozen western peninsula of Snæfellsnes, near Kirkjufell, this is a social/musical/theater friendly hostel with a theater inside, where many local performers go and tell forgotten Icelandic tales. Is fully equipped with a kitchen, tea, has very kinds of dorms (each one has a theme with artistic walls).

It has a big comfy hall where you can find musical instruments to play and to give concerts for other hosts, books and board games. Everyone was so nice... And I really felt at home here and wished I could stay for a whole month!!

This is more an experience then an accomodation. It's an innovative idea where you stay in a hostel (that social feeling) and still have 100% of your intimacy: you sleep in a full equipped Pod with a TV, music and cute purple and blue lights as if you were in a space ship!

Besides that, they have great bathroom and kitchen facilities where you can have food/shampoo of other fellow travellers and can leave the things you don't need when you check out. They have a VR room too where you can play for free, and a bar inside where you can hang out with your travel mates.

Hotel Klaustur is the perfect place to crash between Vík and the Iceberg Lagoon, and for a 3-star hotel, looks like much more. The rooms are warm, clean and fully equipped, the lobby is beautiful and the breakfast is one of a kind... It had smoked salmon, humus, Icelandic fish, so many things to taste a real Icelandic experience before the sunrise. Actually, the hotel restaurant is one of the bests in the city!

When you arrive you can ask for information about the forecast and the chance to see the northern lights, they have it all to explain to you!!

For me, as a broke backpacker, hostels are my first choice of accomodation, but sometimes it's difficult to find one that has a good price and it's not uncomfortable. Well, St Christopher's inn is a great choice! I stayed in a woman 4 dorm bed, with continental breakfast included (which had expresso included guys, EXPRESSO!! How good is it ahah?).

The hostel is very clean, with a beautiful hall, and located in the middle of everything, just take left for the castle part and right for the new town (I only walked in Edinburgh, no need to catch the buses if you're staying here). The breakfast place is also a restaurant/bar and sometimes it has parties to go (like one I saw on valentine's day).

If you're looking for an unique experience surrounded by ice, appart from the civilization in a comfyness of a Mongolian Yurt heated by a wood stove and amazing tea, with the starry night and the northem lights shining only for you and your second half, well.. This is for you!
The owners are Solla and Erwin, one of the best persons I knew in my life. They, alone, had this beautiful idea, and built their 3 tents with a passion for fulfilling their long life dream.
In the morning we had an amazing Icelandic breakfast when we met their beautiful family and talked as if the world would end that day.

Other amazing thing about this place: Solla has other tent called the Gaia Temple, where she does sound healing and sound meditation sessions for those who want it (and believe me, it was so good to be able to be with myself after all the "omg we have so little sun time" and "omg we have to hurry for our next city" things).

In winter, just one tent is available so you have to think about booking it in advance :)
